James has been the pastor of Vilonia Church of the Nazarene since September, 1992. Before coming to Vilonia, he pastored in Alexander, Paragould, Osceola, and Fort Smith, Arkansas. James was raised in Beebe, Arkansas and graduated from Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University) in 1984. He is married to Bonita (Boydston) Smith. James and Bonita have three adult children: David, Selena and Carol.

Hey everybody! I've been a part of the Vilonia Nazarene Church for over 20 years. I grew up in Vilonia and this is home. I currently teach 3rd grade at Vilonia Elementary. I firmly believe we are to take every opportunity to guide our children in the ways of the Lord and teach them to love like Jesus. When you attend, you will see our children are involved in every aspect of worship. We have several different places where your child(ren) can be involved, so come and see us sometime!
